Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines music, chanting, acrobatics and fighting techniques in a ritualized dance-fight played in a communal circle of participants and spectators.
The Capoeira Conservation Project is dedicated to the sharing and preservation of Capoeira and other related art forms of the
African Diaspora, as well as providing a space for
community building and enrichment.
The Project is open to all youth. We especially would like to reach out to youth of color and other youth that may not have access to these programs. By providing youth access and exposure to Capoeira and all of its healing properties, we hope to revitalize our community through
diversity and cultural sharing.
