Capoeira da Rua
is a game of transitions.
Where Angola is played low and close,
and Regional high and far,
Da Rua plays in and out.
Favoring neither we exist in both.
The purpose of Capoeira da Rua is
to allow the practitioner to make
the transition from low to high,
close range to long range,
game to fight.
Thus, we honor the rituals of Angola,
but we are not bound by one mestre's
or school's tradition.
We believe that cross training allows us
to appreciate the differences and similarities
between Capoeira and other arts
and enables us to better translate
from game to fight.
Thus, we emphasize movements
that help us transition
from the roda of Capoeira
to the roda of Life...
